Sculptra

Sculptra, also, known as “liquid face lift”, works by both filling in lines, wrinkles and folds and stimulating the body to produce new collagen in underlying tissue. Thereby creating a fuller and more youthful appearance. Excellent results have been achieved utilizing Sculptra to add volume to all parts of the face and areas around the eyes, lips, between the mouth and nose, cheeks and neck.

Sculptra is utilized by numbing the patient with a topical anesthetic cream and then a series of injections are placed into a desired area either by placing into the deep soft tissue or in the area above the bone. Material used in Sculptra is poly-L-lactic acid. A synthetic version of a substance that is naturally produced by muscles during exercise. It has been used in plastic and reconstructive surgery for more than 20 years. The results are very natural looking and appear gradually over a few weeks time and Sculptra has been known to last two years or more because it causes the body to stimulate it’s own collagen. Sculptra has a minimal side effect profile other than short term swelling and redness. It has become a powerful tool in minimally invasive facial rejuvenation and in replacing those tissues that have atrophied over the years in the cheek and facial region.
